Truck tolls are a important theme for all parties involved in the transport sector. As of 1 December there will be several changes and reforms made to the toll collection system in Germany. In this blog we want to set out what these mean for you as our customer.
New CO2-emission classes as of 1 December
On 1 January of this year there was a first increase in the price per km. The upcoming changes are to implement changes made by the German government to the maut laws. This entails new tariffs, the introduction of CO2-tolls, introduction for tolls for LNG/CNG powered trucks and tolls for vehicles from 3,5 tons. The aim is to reward low-emmision vehicles. From 1 December all Euro VI trucks will be divided into new classes, based on this info.
How will this effect you as a customer?
Unfortunately the new class system means that for whatever class a truck is in, the tolls per km will increase substantially by almost 100%. We are therefore forced to reflect this in our pricing agreements. From 1 December we will charge the new transport price. In case you are unsure what this will be, you can of course contact our sales team directly. They will then provide you with an updated quote.
